The 11th Cheongju Entrepreneurs’ Day Held to Honor Outstanding Local Businesses

The 11th Cheongju Entrepreneurs’ Day event was held on the afternoon of the 20th at the Merida Convention’s Marcia Hall.

The ceremony was organized by the Cheongju Entrepreneurs’ Association (Chairman Cho Geon-hee) and co-hosted by the Cheongju Integrated Industrial Complex Management Corporation (Director Ryu Ma-young), the Cheongju Industrial Complex Management Corporation (Director Hyun Il-seon), and the Ochang Science Industrial Complex Management Corporation (Director Keum Man-hee).

More than 300 people attended the event, including Cheongju Mayor Lee Beom-seok, Cheongju City Council Chairman Kim Hyun-gi, Chairman Cho Geon-hee of the Entrepreneurs’ Association, local business leaders, representatives of related institutions, and heads of economic organizations.

First launched in 2015, Cheongju Entrepreneurs’ Day serves as a meaningful occasion to recognize and encourage the efforts of local entrepreneurs who have continued to perform admirably despite the global economic downturn.

Under the slogan “Creating the Value of the Local Economy — Entrepreneurs Can Make It Happen!”, the program included:

• The presentation of certificates to promising SMEs and leading employers in Cheongju

• Awards for outstanding entrepreneurs

• The declaration of the Cheongju Entrepreneurs’ Vision Statement

This year, 18 companies were certified as Cheongju Promising SMEs, including Dongil Glass Co., Ltd., Geumjin Co., Ltd., Semitronics Technology Co., Ltd., Aurora Industrial Lighting Co., Ltd., Chosun ID Co., Ltd., Thomas Cable Co., Ltd., Yukyung Chemical, Human & Technology, Daewon DC Co., Ltd., Kukbo Science Co., Ltd., Sammi Sound Technology Co., Ltd., Semtech Co., Ltd., SMI Co., Ltd., DF Tech Co., Ltd., Cheongju Lime Co., Ltd., Taepyeong C&F, Hayoung Co., Ltd., and Taejeon Co., Ltd.

The certification for promising SMEs is valid for three years (March 1, 2025 – February 29, 2028) and includes various incentives such as:

• 5 years of interest subsidies (3%) on business stabilization funds

• Three-year exemption from local tax audits

• Priority support for overseas market development and export capacity-building programs

Nine companies were selected as Cheongju Leading Employment Enterprises, including Daesung Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd., DSF Agricultural Corporation Co., Ltd., A1 Tech Co., Ltd., Green Optics Co., Ltd., Hayoung SMC Co., Ltd., Sammil Co., Ltd., Smile Tech Co., Ltd., HS Solar Energy Co., Ltd., and One & C Co., Ltd.

The leading employment certification, valid for two years (January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2026), offers benefits such as:

• Preferential participation in Cheongju’s “Tomorrow Sharing Job Program”

• 5 years of interest subsidies (3%) on business stabilization funds

• Three-year exemption from local tax audits

• Additional points for participation in overseas market development programs

The Chungcheongbuk-do Governor’s Award for outstanding entrepreneurs went to Geoyang Core Co., Ltd., Saehan Engineering Co., Ltd., Gungmin Auto Repair Shop, Hayoung Co., Ltd., and Aha Foods Co., Ltd.

The Cheongju Mayor’s Award was presented to Sungjin Corporation Co., Ltd., Daegun Electric Co., Ltd., Smile Tech Co., Ltd., Dowon Steel Form Co., Ltd., Sunho Color Pack, OA Land Co., Ltd., GC Green Cross, Jangyu Industry Co., Ltd., Laparofe, Raon Co., Ltd., Girin Cosmetics Co., Ltd., Rice Cake & Scenery Co., Ltd., Eegong Architecture Co., Ltd., Daerim Industry Co., Ltd., RLC Electronics Co., Ltd., A1 Tech Co., Ltd., E&C Co., Ltd., BSF Farm Agricultural Corp. The Cheongju City Council Chairman’s Award went to Daejung Construction Co., Ltd., CSP, Daerim General Development Co., Ltd., Yedam Co., Ltd., Myeongjin Packaging Co., Ltd., Bogeon Environmental Industry Co., Ltd., Seogwang Machinery, Bugang Special Coating, Jungbu Trading Co., Ltd., KS ENG, Daemyung Precision, Taesung Concrete Co., Ltd., Seongsan Scrap Co., Ltd., Yushin Engineering Co., Ltd., Green Optics Co., Ltd., Bizforce Co., Ltd., and Iljin Gate Co., Ltd.

The Chungbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration Director’s Award was presented to Ubicoms Co., Ltd., Daerim Electric Co., Ltd., Daejin Industry, Mirae Hi-Tech Co., Ltd., Sky Diamond Co., Ltd., Biojin Co., Ltd., Angel Textile, Jina Precision Co., Ltd., Seongwon ENG Co., Ltd., and Taewon Tech Co., Ltd.

In total, 84 companies were honored at this year’s ceremony.

In his commemorative address, Chairman Cho Geon-hee of the Cheongju Entrepreneurs’ Association said,

“Our entrepreneurs have long served as key drivers of local growth and development. Despite the challenging domestic and global environment, we must continue to overcome adversity through transformation and innovation.”
